"Argentina Tango: The Relationship Dance" Workshop

by: Cal Editor

Evangeline Room, UL Student Union Center, UL Campus

9:30am

Admission: Free

This workshop was created as a way for men and women to discover fun and creative ways to resolve issues, power struggles, and to enter into a flow of relaxation and affection. Through exploring the masculine and feminine aspects within both, and by awareness and conscious movement, tango figures become a language that we can comprehend, and that opens a new world of intimacy. Using "bids for intimacy" through symbolic and somatic language, through pauses and silences, and subtle contact, we learn to speak this language. The music and rhythm of tango exemplify the harmonies and tensions that we have in human relationships. In this workshop we look at brain function and some of the differences between men and women that inspires us to understand how we can benefit each other with our differences.
