This exhibition incorporates selected work from diverse series over the past decade including The Braille, Geometry, and Book Pages Series, The Petalum Collages, and Wire Constructions. Questioning how an individual communicates and receives information has been an important catalyst in my recent work. The complexities of sensory experience, in particular the visual, tactile and auditory, are all significant sources informing this work. The use of repetition is directly inspired by meditative rhythms both spoken and sung.Repurposing with a Purpose Recycled Art Auction

The use of repetition is directly inspired by meditative rhythms both spoken and sung."Louisiana Corners and Cajun Blue" by Mary Louise Porter

This exhibition incorporates selected work from diverse series over the past decade including The Braille, Geometry, and Book Pages Series, The Petalum Collages, and Wire Constructions. Questioning how an individual communicates and receives information has been an important catalyst in my recent work. "Louisiana Corners are creative contemporary landscape collages on three-dimensional wooden boxes. These mixed media collages are a combination of handmade 3D objects, found objects, and torn handmade paper to create imaginative images the viewer can enjoy. Artist Mary Louise Porters passion for intense, bold color, line, and shape are shown in the collages with the theme of Louisiana and travels woven into each artwork.
