Kisatchie National Forest is considered one of Louisiana's treasures. On this special day trip, you'll hike parts of the Wild Azalea trail as well as parts of the Kinkaid loop trail. Our route will start at Evangeline Camp and cross Lamotte Creek amidst the hardwood bottomland before intersecting the Kinkaid lake trail. Once on the Kinkaid trail, you'll have views of the lake and possibly views of a Bald Eagle that nests there. We'll hike around 7 miles with a lunch served right on the trail.
