Lafayette Gardens featured on the tour are: Mrs. Robert Trahan - 333 Wentworth Boulevard; Ray Menard and Carlton Smith - 522 St. Thomas Street; Mary and Dennis Smith - 142 Heartwood Circle; Sally and John Block 929 Marilyn Drive; Renee and Herbert Schilling - 217 Parkview Drive. Admission to all five gardens requires a $15 ticket purchased in advance or $20 on day of the tour, with proceeds benefiting numerous charities. Tickets may be purchased through any Avec Souci member, Albertson's on Johnston St., All Seasons Nursery and Landscape, The Gardenaire, Champagne's Market, The Garden Center, and Native Sun. Kinkaid Loop Trail Hiking Trip

Join us for a day hike through the Kinkaid Loop Trail. This relaxing 9 mile loop is longer than some of our hikes, but the easy terrain and the variety of scenery on the trail makes the miles pass quickly. Our route will take us along the hilly shore of Lake Kinkaid before intersecting with the Wild Azalea Trail for a short time. Join Blake Young, owner and president of NuCanoe for "Frontier Day". Blake will introduce you to the NuCanoe's latest kayak - the 12' Frontier. For this event, we'll meet at Pack & Paddle at 5pm, then head over to Lake Martin. Blake will have two fully rigged Frontiers with him. After a short presentation on all the new features of this kayak, the boats will be available for free demo's on beautiful Lake Martin.

Bayou Vermilion Canoe Paddle

The community is invited to take a canoe trip on the Bayou Vermilion. $5 insurance fee to American Canoe Association for a canoe or bring your own canoe or kayak and paddle for free. Canoe trips are held every second and last Saturday of the month weather and river conditions permitting. Nature Station Nite Hike

Take part in the Acadiana Park's monthly nite hike for a guided evening hike through the Acadiana Park Nature Trails. Be sure to bring a flashlight, long pants, walking shoes and insect repellent.
