Young describes his work as a translation of the use of light on an object into color. His studio paintings employ a cold wax medium added to oil paint, which he stresses with heat thereby creating rich, complex, colored surfaces reflective of Provincetown, MA and its artistic history. Young describes his work as a translation of the use of light on an object into color.
