Wild Nezpique Paddle Trip
by: Cal Editor
Pack & Paddle, 601 E. Pinhook Road, Lafayette
Admission: $40
Pronounced "neh-PEE-kay", translated to "tattooed nose bayou", this beautiful bayou flows through lands populated in the past by the Attakapas indian tribe. The Nezpique is in the Jennings area. This paddle will cover a leisurely 6-7 miles through cypress, tupelo and oak trees - leaving time for birding and animal observation. We call it the "Wild" Nezpique due to the lack of human settlement along the river. You'll be treated to a delicious lunch prepared by Hub City Diner.
