In honor of National Kids to Parks Day, Longfellow Evangeline State Historic Site will be offering a special program in which children will be able to experience what life would have been like in the early 1800s as Acadian child. Children will be encouraged to participate in chores (such as working in the garden, seeding cotton, making butter, etc.) as well as have the opportunity to play games the Acadian children enjoyed. Staff will be dressed in historic costumes and a limited number of childrens costumes will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
