Tony Cutrera's See What I See Exhibit The Bayou Vermilion District is pleased to present a rotating year round exhibit in partnership with the Lafayette Art Association to be featured in Vermilionvilles restaurant La Cuisine de Maman. Laurence Young Exhibit The work of Massachusetts artist Laurence Young will be on display at the Rue Du Pont Galerie through May 31. Young describes his work as a translation of the use of light on an object into color. His studio paintings employ a cold wax medium added to oil paint, which he stresses with heat thereby creating rich, complex, colored surfaces reflective of Provincetown, MA and its artistic history. Faith & Form Faith and Form surveys some of the remarkable fine art and decorative art from area churches, cathedrals and private collections. The exhibition has been in development for over two years and is a partnership between the Hilliard Museum and the UL Lafayette Public History program. Faith and Form is part of Louisiana's Bicentennial Celebration. May 1st-May 31st: Early Bayou Teche Maps and City History Exhibit. This exhibit is part of the city's Bicentennial program entitled "Sugar, Slavery, & Statehood". May 16th-June 30th: Becoming Louisiana: The Path to Statehood. This beautiful history exhibit is made of 10 panels designed by curator Herman Mhire and researched by Louisiana historian Charles Elliott. Exhibits located in the historic Maison Duchamp, 201 S. Main St. Open every Wednesday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
