Laurence Young Exhibit The work of Massachusetts artist Laurence Young will be on display at the Rue Du Pont Galerie through May 31. Young describes his work as a translation of the use of light on an object into color. His studio paintings employ a cold wax medium added to oil paint, which he stresses with heat thereby creating rich, complex, colored surfaces reflective of Provincetown, MA and its artistic history. Finding Egypt in Louisiana:  The Ambassador Jefferson Caffery Collection As the US Ambassador to Egypt from 1949-1955, Jefferson Caffery collected a variety of ancient artifacts while visiting several dig sights including the Valley Temple with Egyptologist, Dr. Ahmed Fakhry, and President Nasser of Egypt. The collected artifacts range in age from the first Dynasty (over 5000 years ago) to the 25th Dynasty. Finding Egypt in Louisiana:  The Ambassador Jefferson Caffery Collection As the US Ambassador to Egypt from 1949-1955, Jefferson Caffery collected a variety of ancient artifacts while visiting several dig sights including the Valley Temple with Egyptologist, Dr. Ahmed Fakhry, and President Nasser of Egypt. The collected artifacts range in age from the first Dynasty (over 5000 years ago) to the 25th Dynasty.
