Marais Press is the only university-housed printmaking press in Louisiana. Established in 1991 with funding from the University of Louisiana Alumni Association, Marais Press is an edition-producing press housed in the Department of Visual Arts. Each year, the Press invites prominent local, regional, national, and international printmakers and arts to the University to collaborate with students in the printmaking and visual arts programs. As the only program in the state of Louisiana to actively research and implement the use of non-toxic and alternative material, especially with computerized technologies, the exhibition offers a unique and innovative style of printmaking.
